The mineral zinc is the second most abundant essential trace element in the body. The body does not store excess zinc and it therefore needs to be consumed regularly to meet the body’s requirements. Copper is another essential trace mineral found distributed in foods. Zinc supplementation can sometimes cause copper deficiency which is why it may be advisable to supplement them together.
